George Kittle is now adhering to the conspiracy theory of the power station near Levi’s Stadium.

It’s remarkable that the San Francisco 49ers had a good 2025 season despite the number of injuries that they suffered. The team finished third in the NFC West, but they were 12-5 in the division. While they were getting set to face the Eagles in the playoffs, a massive theory emerged online.

Peter Cowan suggested that electromagnetic fields may be affecting the health of San Francisco 49ers players. George Kittle and wide receiver Jauan Jennings were injured in the season opener. Kittle was also placed on the injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury. Nick Bosa suffered a season-ending torn ACL, and Fred Warner snapped his leg.

It was something that continued to gain legs over the past few months. Now, the 49ers tight end is adding even more conversation to the subject.

Last year, Kittle became the latest name on a long list of injury woes that have ravaged the franchise in recent years. His season started with an injury and ended with one. Many continue to blame a power station near their stadium. Kittle certainly helped fuel that conspiracy theory.

Kittle was asked about the claims and reflected on what he observed during his early years with the franchise.

“The one thing that messes me up with it, this is tough, my rookie season there used to be trees in between the substation and our practice facility.”

“There’s a fence there too, and above the fence, all the trees had no leaves on them, year-round, all dead. Nobody notices it until you point it out. I didn’t point it out to Kyle Shanahan until 2021.”

“A vet pointed it out to me my rookie season, and I was like ‘That’s kind of weird’. But then this year the NFL came in and cut them all down.”

“So they’re not there anymore, so no one can see them. So it’s only us vets that know that was the truth. I don’t think anyone talked about that yet. That one messed me up.”

His comments come after he suffered a season-ending Achilles tear during the NFC Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles. In 11 contests this year, Kittle caught 57 of his 69 targets for 628 yards and seven touchdowns while earning his seventh Pro Bowl nod.

Last month, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch addressed the rapidly spreading conspiracy theory. Lynch revealed that the team will look into it, citing the importance of the players’ health. No one will ever know what the 2025 49ers could’ve done if they hadn’t had so many injuries to deal with.
