Mac Jones has had his name trending for several reasons this offseason. Much of it has to do with his personal life. Jones had been dating his girlfriend Sophie Scott since September 2019. When he started his football career as a quarterback at Alabama University, Jones also met his girlfriend. She has been by his side ever since. That seemingly stopped in 2026.

The San Francisco 49ers quarterback reportedly broke up with his long-term girlfriend. A report by Andrew Holleran, published on The Spun, claimed that Jones and Scott had broken up after dating for 8 years.

Scott is said to be a model and a former cheerleader for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Dating for that long without marriage might be a reason that they parted ways.

Days after that announcement, Mac Jones is trending for a more embarrassing reason.

49ers tight end George Kittle and backup quarterback Mac Jones are vacationing together in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The Cabo trip included George and Claire Kittle, Mac Jones, Kendrick and Vanessa Bourne, Trent and Sarah Taylor, and Kyle and Kristin Juszczyk.

Jones being without his girlfriend only fuels speculation that they have broken up. Despite fans being sad for him, the group has been golfing, partying, and enjoying the sun, with Kristin Juszczyk documenting the trip on Instagram.

George Kittle has documented it himself and decided to share it as well. Kittle posted a diabolical picture of Jones attempting to dive into the water. Unfortunately, his body did not cooperate with what his brain wanted him to do.

His picture led to hilarity online.

“George Kittle posted this pic of Mac Jones 😭😭,” one post said.

This past season, Mac Jones went 5-3 as a starter, filling in for the injured Brock Purdy. He threw 13 touchdowns against six interceptions while finishing second among all NFL quarterbacks in completion percentage at 69.6 percent.
