Days after their playoff exit, offensive lineman Rasheed Walker was arrested in New York. He was charged with counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. Amid debates on whether they should have extended Matt LaFleur, the Packers appear to have a lot on their plate.

Things could become worse in the offseason. One of their best wide receivers might leave the team and join one of the Packers’ worst rivals, the San Francisco 49ers.

Romeo Doubs Could Leave Packers And Join 49ers This Offseason

Nathan Jahnke of Pro Football Focus predicted that Romeo Doubs would walk away and join the 49ers in the 2026 free agency.

“The 49ers will need an X receiver next season if Jennings doesn’t re-sign. Jennings has spent most of the last two seasons as their X receiver, as Brandon Aiyuk played the X position before that. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur spent most of 2008-2016 as an assistant under 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan with three different franchises, so Doubs would be a strong schematic fit with the 49ers offense,” Jahnke wrote.

The 49ers traded Deebo Samuel in the 2025 offseason. Brandon Aiyuk didn’t play a single snap last campaign. Additionally, if Jauan Jennings leaves in free agency, they will have few options at wide receiver. Ricky Pearsall showed flashes last season, but they need to bolster that position.
