Here’s Who Got Travis Kelce’s Jersey From His Likely Final Game During Mahomes Injury Game – And He Probably Made a Big Mistake

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce may have just given away one of the most valuable memorabilia pieces of his storied career. And he probably didn’t even realize it.
The Chiefs’ nightmare 2025 season hit a new low on Sunday. Patrick Mahomes suffered a season-ending ACL tear with less than two minutes to go in a must-win game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
A few minutes later, backup quarterback Gardner Minshew II threw a game-sealing interception to secure a 16-13 win for the Bolts. The Chiefs (6-8) were officially eliminated from playoff contention for the first time since 2014.
With the playoff dreams over and Mahomes done for the year, the focus in Kansas City shifts to Travis Kelce. Why? Because we may be witnessing the last three weeks of a Hall of Fame career. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is among the crowd that thinks Kelce will call it quits after the season.
After Sunday’s game, cameras caught the heartwarming postgame interaction between Travis Kelce and Chargers All-Pro Derwin James Jr. The latter asked Kelce for his game-worn jersey, and Kelce promised to do exactly that:

Kelce finished the game with seven catches for 70 yards, per ESPN.
Travis Kelce May Have Given Away A Valuable Piece Of Memorabilia

If Kelce retires after this season, that means Derwin James Jr. gets the last jersey the star tight end wore in a game with Mahomes. That could be worth a pretty penny, so Kelce might want to ask James if he can have it back.
Kelce and Taylor Swift got engaged in the summer, so he could very well decide it’s time to prioritize his personal life. Kelce has nothing more to prove, with a Hall of Fame resume and three Super Bowl championship rings.
However, it’s well-known that Kelce returned for 2025 largely because he didn’t want his career to end with a humiliating Super Bowl loss. For all we know, he won’t want his career to end without a playoff appearance.
