Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders left Sunday’s home game against the Buffalo Bills in the second quarter after suffering a gnarly finger injury.
Shedeur Sanders suffered a finger injury during Cleveland’s second-quarter drive that culminated in a field goal. A close-up camera angle shows a bloody pinky on his throwing hand:

Sanders briefly had to exit the game and get checked out in the locker room.

The 23-year-old Sanders had the pinky wrapped up and returned to the game minutes later. Backup Dillon Gabriel took one snap behind center and took a two-yard sack on the play.

Coming into Sunday’s game, Sanders had a 52.2 completion percentage for 946 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions, per ESPN. He was named the starter for the Browns’ Week 12 road game against the Las Vegas Raiders with Gabriel in concussion protocol.
