An unnamed official accidentally left his microphone on during the live broadcast of the highly anticipated Rams-Chargers matchup. Consequently, television audiences across the country clearly heard his unfiltered thoughts regarding the game’s progression.
While preparing for an upcoming play, the open microphone suddenly broadcast a weary voice saying, “Jesus, let’s get this over with.” Apparently, the grueling nature of the exhibition schedule had finally exhausted the refereeing crew’s patience.
Drama Unfolds On the Field
Beyond the hilarious broadcasting error, the actual exhibition contest delivered plenty of competitive drama.
The Rams-Chargers battle concluded with a thrilling 20-18 victory for the Rams. Initially, the defense set a dominant tone by recovering a costly fumble from quarterback Justin Herbert.
Initially, the Chargers’ starting offense made a massive statement. Herbert unleashed a beautifully placed 65-yard touchdown pass down the seam to Quentin Johnston. Consequently, the Chargers jumped out to an early lead, showcasing the explosive potential of their starting lineup.
