The Houston Texans are likely optimistic about their immediate future after adding wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. in a trade with Arizona.
But their upcoming game required a trip across the Atlantic, which got off with a hitch.
Reporter Aaron Wilson revealed on Friday that the team’s flight was delayed due to a mechanical issue with the aircraft.
“Texans flight got delayed for mechanical issue with jet, and they wound up switching to another plane,” Wilson wrote.

The Associated Press reports that coach DeMeco Ryans addressed the delay Friday after practice in North London.
“Whatever can go wrong will go wrong,” the head coach quipped.
“We had a little issue with our plane, so we had to change planes there before we left Houston,” Ryans continued.
The third-year HC said everyone was safe, while quarterback C.J. Stroud claimed the long trip was great for team bonding.
Houston Prepared For London With Blue Light Glasses And An Early Arrival

The delay interrupted a plan months in the making. According to the Houston Chronicle, staff visited London several times after the schedule came out. They settled on arriving two days before the game.
Wellness director Ladd Harris also gave players blue light glasses and an earlier bedtime plan.
“We got the guys some cool blue light glasses to kind of help for guys to go to sleep,” Ryans explained.
The Texans did something similar before beating the Jaguars in the same city back in 2019.
The Jags are now properly acclimated as they have been in the UK since last Friday.
They beat the Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 on Sunday in a game that provided drama from the opening moments.
Two players were ejected after a kickoff brawl, setting the tone for the rest of the tilt, which ended in dramatic fashion.
Philadelphia looked to have a victory sewn up after going ahead with just eight seconds left. However, a special teams blunder set up Cam Little for a 57-yard field goal, which he drilled with one second left.
The Jaguars remained in London for their second game of the extra-long road trip.
