Internet detectives claim that President Donald Trump was partially responsible for the firing of Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

On Tuesday, the Ravens fired John Harbaugh in a surprise move after a meeting with owner Steve Bisciotti. Harbaugh spent 18 seasons on the job, making him the NFL’s second-longest active tenured head coach at the time. Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers is the longest-tenured active HC, having held his position since 2007.

After the stunning news, it was reported that Harbaugh’s refusal to even consider firing offensive coordinator Todd Monken was a factor in Baltimore’s decision to make a coaching change.

But if you believe in the Donald Trump sports curse, Harbaugh’s firing probably doesn’t surprise you. The 63-year-old coach visited the president at the White House in July, describing the experience as “amazing” and “awesome,” per the Associated Press.

Now, fans believe that the well-documented Trump sports curse also affected Harbaugh.

“Imagine being a Trump supporter and getting fired on January 6th…. Damn Harbaugh,” wrote a fan.

“I knew it was over for Harbaugh when him and his brother went to see trump 🤣🤣,” a user commented.

“The ravens went 8-9 and missed the postseason after John Harbaugh took this photo with trump in July,” a fan added

Remember, the Detroit Lions unraveled after Amon-Ra St. Brown performed Donald Trump’s signature dance during a touchdown celebration against the Washington Commanders.

Don’t forget the Kansas City Chiefs getting blown out in Super Bowl 59 after Trump voiced his support for them. Or when Team USA lost to Team Canada in the 4 Nations Face-Off final after he told the players that they would win on a phone call.

John Harbaugh & Ravens Should Benefit From A Fresh Start

Harbaugh and the Ravens had a special 18-year run together, highlighted by a Super Bowl 47 championship. However, sometimes change is simply necessary. Look at how much the New England Patriots have benefited since moving on from Bill Belichick, arguably the greatest coach in history.

The future Hall of Famer had eight chances to win a Super Bowl with Lamar Jackson. He mustered just three playoff wins. Core players like Jackson, Marlon Humphrey, Derrick Henry and Ronnie Stanley aren’t getting any younger, either.

Baltimore desperately needs a new voice, and Harbaugh should benefit from a change of scenery. With six other head coaching vacancies, Harbaugh should generate plenty of interest.
