Jared Verse’s Interaction With Gay Reporter Sparks Massive Online Debate [VIDEO]

An interview between Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse and a gay reporter is going viral online this week.
Verse was speaking to a self-proclaimed queer journalist named Ruba Wilson at Ronda Rousey’s fight vs. Gina Carano earlier in May.
Wilson asked the player to name teammates he believed he could beat in a fight.
“I’m beating the hell out of Puka (Nacua), I’m beating BY (Byron Young), I’m beating everybody on the Rams,” Verse said.
Wilson then let out what sounded like a moan before facing the camera. ”We love a confident daddy,” he said in a lecherous tone.
Verse, clearly blindsided by the comment, started laughing.
Wilson asked, “What happened? what are you talking about?”
“What the f*** just happened, bro?” Verse asked, still laughing.
Claims that Verse was insensitive toward the reporter have since surfaced online.
“LGBTQIA+ activists on social media believe that Verse laughing was completely uncalled for & that he was not sensitive towards Ruba’s feelings,” MLFootball claimed in a tweet.

Most People Thought Jared Verse Handled Himself Well

Whether or not there was criticism didn’t matter to Sage Steele. The former ESPN talent found the interaction funny and thought Verse only did what was natural.
“Let’s be clear: seeing a man with a mustache dressed as a woman, making sexual innuendos to a very masculine man, with that forced voice is – among many things – funny,” she tweeted.
“Comical, actually. Laughing is the kindest reaction to the entire exchange.”
Other X users agreed.
“I mean he called him daddy🤣🤣,” one pointed out.

“Dudes don’t like to be called “Daddy” by other dudes, period. Wtf did he do wrong besides get very obviously uncomfortable? The gay reporter should be respectful next time and keep things appropriate and maybe not sexualize everything,” another comment read.

“Jared Verse laughing at “We love a confident daddy!” is the most normal human reaction possible. The reporter said something flirty and playful he smiled. That’s it. Stop trying to cancel normal male behavior,” a user wrote.

Is there a better way Verse should have reacted under such circumstances?
