Jerry Jeudy’s Bizarre Reason For Wearing Jewish Star Despite Not Being Jewish Is Going Viral [VIDEO]

Cleveland Browns Jerry Jeudy has gone viral for many a poor reason since entering the pros.
His sideline spat with Shedeur Sanders last season counted for one of them. He also got into it with former NFL star Steve Smith while the latter was working as an on-field analyst for NFL Network back in 2023.
An old combine video has gone viral again, showing him explaining why he wore a Star of David pendant to his media session.
Jeudy was about to be drafted out of Alabama back in 2020 when he spoke to reporters while wearing the pendant. Questioned on its significance, he would go on to explain that sometimes people call him “Jew” because of his last name.
“My last name’s Jeudy. People sometimes call me ‘Jew,’ … So, I just got a Jewish star,” he said. “I’m not Jewish, though.”

Jerry Jeudy Accused Of Gang Affiliation

The Star of David, also known in Hebrew as the shield of David, is a six-pointed star that symbolizes Jewish identity and Judaism.
A few fans believe it had nothing to do with his name but was being worn as a nod to a certain gang. Some felt like it was representative of his career, while others felt like it wasn’t a big deal.
“he’s GD , he not slick LMFAO,” someone claimed.

“Liar. Guys in the same gang as Terrell Suggs. Look into it. Suggs has a Star of David tattoo. They’re openly gang members in their personal lives. It’s the sign of the Gangster Disciples,” said another.

“Aside that. Believe it or not, a lot of Black Americans wear the Star/Lion of Judah pendants. They don’t have to be Jewish to wear the symbolism,” a user offered.

Jeudy later apologized to anyone he may have offended.
“Don’t mean no disrespect to the Jewish people!” he wrote in a tweet. “I’m sorry to the people who take my chain offensive!!”
It doesn’t appear that folks made much of it.
Jeudy went on to become the 15th overall pick that year and was a Pro Bowler in 2024.
