Kris Boyd is back in the hospital this week.
The New York Jets player had to be rushed back days after he was released for treatment of a gunshot wound that he suffered in Manhattan.
After it was announced that Boyd was shot, footage would soon be shown of the star player being tended to while on the ground. What appears to be some of his teammates could be seen watching on as he eventually gets loaded into the back of an ambulance.
Now, the New York Jets cornerback was forced to return to the hospital due to “health issues,” as the 29-year-old shared a vague update in a social media post on Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday, Kris Boyd wrote, “Please bare with me, l haven’t been in communication much…” Boyd began in an Instagram Stories post. “l was released but had to return to the hospital due to my health issues…l love and appreciate everyone of yall dearly who has prayed/reached out even if I can’t get back to you!”

The post concluded, “Head HIGH, God is not through with me yet!”
It’s not clear when Kris Boyd was released from the hospital or how long he was at home before his health issues took a turn for the worse.
Kris Boyd Was Already Out For The 2025 Campaign

New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was placed on season-ending injured reserve in August due to a shoulder injury suffered in the preseason.
The 29-year-old was in the midst of his first season with the Jets after signing with them this offseason.
He should be able to make a full recovery from his gunshot wound to play in 2026.
According to NYPD officials, a verbal dispute broke out between his group and another group of men, which escalated from comments to a fight outside. The confrontation led to Boyd being shot.
The bullet entered Boyd’s abdomen and became lodged in his right lung. He has since undergone multiple surgeries.
In the days following the shooting, the NYPD released surveillance footage of a suspected shooter, leading to new investigative developments.
