Russell Wilson used his first CBS Sunday to put Joe Burrow on the clock. The new NFL Today voice did not ease into the job. He went straight at Cincinnati.

“If it doesn’t go well in Cincinnati this year, Joe Burrow is gone,” Wilson said.

He added that Burrow is tired of losing and that he thinks the playmaker wants to leave. NFL on CBS posted the clip. The replies arrived in minutes.

Bengals fans did not treat it like analysis. They treated it like a former quarterback talking for airtime.

Burrow is signed through 2029. The deal is effectively uncuttable before then. Burrow already answered the rumor this week.

“I love it here. I love everything about this place, so we’re going to make it work,” he told FOX19.

He also said he is proud to be the Bengals quarterback. That trade-request clip landed three days before Wilson’s debut.

Wilson still pushed the “tired of losing” line. Cincinnati missed the playoffs after injuries and a messy 2025. That part is real. The leap to “he wants to leave” is what blew up the clip.

The Bengals opened at home against Tampa Bay. Burrow even caught heat for his pregame outfit before kickoff. Wilson made the clothes the second story.

Burrow has said he is not going anywhere. Wilson said the opposite on national TV. Cincinnati can lose games this year and still have Burrow in 2027. That is how the paperwork works. Wilson talked like the paperwork does not exist. The comments under the CBS post made that the whole point.
