Jonathan Taylor remains one of the hottest names in trade rumors. The Indianapolis Colts running back emerged as a potential trade chip amid the team’s slow start to the 2026 season. Taylor, 27, has been one of the few bright spots of his team this campaign.
After signing a two-year contract extension in the offseason, his deal could get the Colts a big haul in a potential trade. The rumors have increased so much that even his wife offered her take on the situation. With all the speculation surrounding him, Taylor hasn’t lost sight of the goal.
Jonathan Taylor Stays Locked In On Controllables Amid Deadline Noise

On Thursday, he addressed the trade rumors with the media. Taylor made it clear he has not requested a trade from Indianapolis. He acknowledged that there’s only so much he can control.
“I haven’t heard anything, and I can’t control that, obviously. You guys know that I’m always proud to wear the horseshoe, proud to be here,” Taylor said, via Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan. “And similar to Quenton [Nelson] and ‘Buck’ [DeForest Buckner], they were proud to wear the horseshoe, proud to be here. But obviously, circumstances may cause otherwise. So, hopefully that day may not come. But I can’t control that.
“The only thing I can control is corralling these guys in the locker room, helping us put together a great plan, and executing a great play for Jacksonville — because, like I said, it’s a division game. They’re licking their chops right now, they think they’re going to kick us while we’re down, and that has to be a point of emphasis. So, we’ve got to just take it day-by-day.”
Entering Week 8, Taylor has posted 140 carries for 587 yards and eight touchdowns. The trade deadline is on Nov. 10. The Colts and anyone interested in Taylor still have time to work out a deal.
