Josh Allen Reveals One NFL Problem Has Left Him Unable To Sleep At Night

Josh Allen did not hold back when reporters asked about grass versus turf. The Buffalo Bills quarterback sat through a Tuesday media session and made the pain sound personal. He said the surface debate is not some abstract league talking point. It hits his legs after practice and then wrecks his nights.
Buffalo Sports Talk posted the clip, and it ripped through Bills Mafia. Allen described burns that go far beyond a red scrape. He talked about skin that bubbles, keeping him staring at the ceiling.
“I’ve gotten numerous burns on my legs from artificial turf that hurt to the point where I can’t sleep at night,” Allen said.
Josh Allen Says Turf Burns Keep Him Up at Night

He said the wounds bubble over and stay painful long after the pads come off. That is why the new Highmark Stadium grass matters so much to him. Home games should spare him that overnight fire.
“I’ve gotten numerous burns on my legs, to the point I can’t sleep at night because it’s bubbling over and it’s very painful,” Allen said. “So I’m excited to not have to deal with that at home at least.”
He also touched on how his body feels the next day. Indoor turf sessions linger. Grass practices do not.
“I think grass is healthier for our bodies,” Allen said. “I’m at a point in my career now that when we practice inside on the artificial, I can feel it the next day, and when we’re out there I feel great.”

That landing matters for a quarterback who still runs. Allen scored 14 rushing touchdowns last season and keeps putting his legs on the line.
Josh Allen Wants Every NFL Field Switched to Grass

Allen did not stop at Buffalo’s new lawn. He wants the whole league on grass.
“If I could snap my fingers and make every field grass that’s what I would do,” he said.
Road games still loom. Week 1 sends the Bills to Houston, a turf building. Allen already knows those nights may bring the same bubbling burns. He still wants the league to move. George Kittle made a similar grass push during World Cup stadium talk. Players keep saying the same thing.
Buffalo already made the switch at home. New Highmark Stadium installed Kentucky bluegrass last year to allow the field to mature. Allen likes that change. He just does not want the relief limited to Orchard Park.
