Josh Jacobs may have taken full responsibility for his actions off the field, but he’s far from being cleared to play.

After a new update on his disturbing case involving his ex-girlfriend, it was widely presumed that he would not face a harsher penalty from the NFL.

At the moment, he is still on the Commissioner’s Exempt List and is inactive. The NFL’s investigation is ongoing. The league is actively reviewing his legal situation under its Personal Conduct Policy.

Due to the nature of Jacobs’ off-field issues, it is widely expected that he may face harsh punishment once the fiasco is over.

It’s unclear how severe it will be. But Dov Kleiman and Jeremy Fowler now have a total number of games Jacobs could potentially miss once he’s cleared.

“Rumors: Packers star RB Josh Jacobs could reportedly face a 4-6 game suspension, per @JFowlerESPN. The NFL is reportedly seeking video of the incident involving Jacobs and his ex-girlfriend,” Kleiman posted on X.

“Green Bay’s offense could be in serious trouble,” he added.

Jacobs has entered a no-contest plea for the two misdemeanor charges he is facing.

MarShawn Lloyd Expected To Remain Packers’ WR1 Even If Jacobs Returns

Due to Josh Jacobs’ issues, the Green Bay Packers have decided to put the WR1 responsibilities on MarShawn Lloyd this season.

Additional reports suggest that even if Jacobs receives clearance to play, Lloyd is expected to keep his WR1 status for the Packers. ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported the news.

“Even if Jacobs is cleared to come back, he has no more guaranteed money left on his contract after this season, and the Packers could be transitioning at running back anyway. If Lloyd shows he can handle the job and stay healthy, he could keep the RB1 role,” Graziano explained.

Could this mean that it’s all over for Josh Jacobs’ NFL career? There’s a growing possibility he may not be able to play in 2026.
