Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson has fans buzzing with his latest comments about one of the NFL’s new head coaching hires.

Earlier this week, the Buffalo Bills announced that they were promoting offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach. Brady replaces Sean McDermott, who was unexpectedly fired after Buffalo’s loss to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round.

Though he hasn’t outright asked for a trade, many wonder if Jefferson will be dealt by the Vikings. They fired general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah on Friday, with a successor yet to be named.

Brady, of course, was the LSU offensive coordinator when they won the national championship in 2019. That dream team group was led by Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson.

Appearing on the “Sports Seriously” podcast, Jefferson offered high praise for Joe Brady (h/t Ryan Talbot of Syracuse.com):

“”He’s already been doing a phenomenal job behind the scenes. Of course, the TV crew will show him in the box calling the plays and stuff…He’s a great coach. Having him as my offensive coordinator (at LSU) my 2019 year, we had so much fun together just building and working on our craft.”

“I feel like he was mostly the reason why I got picked first round…So, it’s a blessing — it’s honestly just crazy to see the change over the past six years. I’m happy for him, I’m happy to see the different things he’ll do, especially, of course, with Josh Allen at quarterback. I’m excited to see how he carries that team.”

Naturally, some fans think Jefferson is hinting at a possible trade to Buffalo, where he’d join forces with Brady and Josh Allen.

“That 17 to 18 connection is going to be legendary,” a fan wrote.

“I would cry tears of joy,” said a user.

“Keon Coleman, two first round picks,” another commented.

Hey, a Bills fan can dream.

Justin Jefferson Should Reconsider His Future If The Vikings Take Another Step Back In 2026

One year after winning 14 games, the Vikings limped to a 9-8 finish and missed out on the postseason. That was due to the sluggish offense, with second-year QB JJ McCarthy battling injuries and inconsistency.

Jefferson had a down season for his standards, with 84 catches for 1,048 yards and two touchdowns. But that was due to the Vikings’ QB problems. McCarthy, Carson Wentz and Max Brosmer combined for 17 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.

If the Vikings don’t rebound in 2026, Jefferson may have to request a trade. Minnesota has had plenty of time to build a sustainable winner around him, and it hasn’t happened. It’s mind-boggling that they haven’t won a single playoff game since drafting Jefferson in 2020.
