Kelly and friends broke out the Jell-O shots at her 8-year-old daughter’s birthday party over the weekend, which drew a lot of criticism.

The Caption Left Little Doubt About Who The Drinks Were For

A photo Kelly reposted to her Instagram Story showed the adults in attendance holding the shots. The original post, from a friend, read “It’s for the kids.” Kelly added her own caption over the repost: “Jell-O shots for Huntie’s 8th.”

Few people took the “for the kids” line literally. The New York Post noted that the caption reads as tongue-in-cheek, an acknowledgment that the adults were using the celebration as their own excuse to unwind. Fans split sharply in response.

“Nothing worse than parents needing to booze at a 8yr old bday party. Grow up,” one wrote.

“She looks hungover just holding her babies,” another added.

“She is an adult. If she wants a cocktail, she can have a cocktail,” one user argued.

“Virgin Jello shots, no booze…kids love em,” someone joked.

“Is she driving? Pregnant? Performing open heart surgery? No? Then shut up. She’s a grown a** woman in her own home,” someone else wrote.
