Kid Rock feels ready for a big moment on Super Bowl Sunday. He plans to take on global music star Bad Bunny in a head-to-head halftime battle. The rocker says he welcomes the challenge and believes he offers something different for fans.
Earlier this week, Erika Kirk’s Turning Point USA announced Kid Rock as the main performer for its “All-American Halftime Show.” The show will stream at the same time as Bad Bunny’s official NFL Super Bowl halftime performance. This creates a unique face-off between two very different music styles.
Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet explained the event’s purpose in a press release.
“The All-American Halftime Show is an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show with no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom,” Kolvet said. He added that the group wanted to give viewers another choice during the big game. He promised a fun and exciting show for families across the country.
Kid Rock quickly made it clear he likes the concept.
Kid Rock Embraces The Competition

The singer spoke to commentator Benny Johnson about his decision to go up against Bad Bunny and the NFL. He said many Americans feel ignored by modern entertainment. He believes his show fills that gap.
“Half this country is underserved entertainment-wise, and just being a good capitalist, I want to give the people what they want,” Kid Rock said. He stressed that viewers deserve options. “If people don’t want to tune in to what’s going on there, and they want an option, we’re simply gonna go play some great songs for our base.”

Kid Rock described his target audience in simple terms. “For people who love football, love America, and love Jesus,” he said.
The Detroit rocker understands the size of the challenge in front of him. Bad Bunny ranks as one of the most-streamed artists in the world. The NFL halftime show attracts tens of millions of viewers each year. Kid Rock knows he enters the contest as the underdog.
“This is a David and Goliath situation, and I’m David,” he told Johnson. He sounded confident despite the odds. He pointed to his long career as proof that he can compete. “One thing I’ve learned in the music business is nothing beats a great song,” he said.
Turning Point USA expects many viewers for its alternative show. The group plans to stream the performance online for free. Organizers believe some football fans want an option that matches their beliefs.
Kid Rock looks excited about the event. He sees it as more than just a concert. He believes it is a chance to connect with his loyal fans on one of sports’ biggest nights.
Super Bowl Sunday will now have two very different halftime shows. Fans will choose which performance they want to watch.
