Kyle Shanahan’s Perfect Presser Move After Deion Sanders’ Subtle Dig Leaves Colorado Nation Impressed

Kyle Shanahan is gearing up for one of the wildest full-circle moments of his coaching career. On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers line up against the Cleveland Browns and their new QB1, Shedeur Sanders.
Shanahan grew up idolizing Deion Sanders in the ’90s. He even rocked a Prime Time jersey for six straight months… until someone swiped it. When Deion heard the story later, he playfully admonished Kyle for his lack of business sense.
Deion told him, “I’m going to teach you some business. No. 1, I get these jerseys for free, all you had to do was sell it, come to me, get another one and I’ll sign it. Hey, you have to recognize business opportunities.”
So yeah, this matchup hits different. Now he’s about to scheme against Sanders’ son.
Shanahan knows it, too. One X user posted a clip from his presser with the caption, “Shedeur & Coach Prime. 49ers HC Shanahan Talks #12.”
In the video, Shanahan keeps it real, “I thought Shedeur was a good player. It did surprise me going a little bit later in the draft than be did. It is weird facing his son because he was my hero growing up. My wife and daughters are huge CU fans.”
And the ties run deep. Kyle grew up in the 49ers locker room, literally. His dad, Mike Shanahan, was the OC for the iconic 1994 Niners squad, around the same time Sanders was dominating, winning DPOY, and a Super Bowl. And Kyle was the ball boy, soaking all of it in.
Fast-forward nearly 30 years: the kid wearing Prime’s jersey is now calling plays against Prime’s kid.
Kyle Shanahan Prepares for Full-Circle Clash Against Deion Sanders’ Rising-Star Son

Deion Sanders snagged his second straight Lombardi with the 49ers in the 1994–1995 season, tearing up the league as Defensive Player of the Year. Now, almost three decades later, his son is stepping under the lights in a national showdown against that same franchise.
And few people know Deion’s rise better than Kyle Shanahan. The 49ers’ head coach grew up glued to “Prime Time,” idolizing him long before the idea of coaching against Deion’s son was even a blip on the radar.
Shanahan said Deion popped off the screen because he was just built differently. The talent, style, and overall impact on the game were enticing.
Now the league gets a rare full-circle twist: an NFL coach drawing up a game plan for the son of the superstar he once worshipped. All while his own wife and daughters are Buffs diehards thanks to Coach Prime’s Colorado takeover. Coach Prime’s wave at CU, powered by Shedeur, Travis Hunter, and the squad, hasn’t just revived a program… It’s reached living rooms across the country, including the Shanahans’.
