Kyler Murray Appears To Have His Next Team – “One Step Closer”

After seven seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, the NFC West team is moving on from quarterback Kyler Murray. The veteran recorded just two non-losing seasons, including an 11-6 record in 2021, which also became Murray’s first and only playoff experience so far.
With Jacoby Brissett’s resurgence in 2025, a series of injuries that limited him to five games and Jonathan Gannon’s departure as head coach, the Cardinals were widely expected to part ways with Murray. Mike LaFleur took over and he reportedly wants Jimmy Garoppolo as the Cards’ starting quarterback.
They will release Murray on the first day of the league’s new year. As soon as the reports came out, a strong candidate to land the two-time Pro Bowler emerged.
NFC Team Has Kyler Murray High On Their Wish List

ESPN reporter Kevin Seifert wrote on Tuesday that the Minnesota Vikings had Kyler Murray at or near the top of their wish list.
“Kyler Murray is at or near the top of the Vikings’ QB wish list this offseason,” Seifert wrote. “This news brings him one step closer to the open market.”

The Vikings are reportedly ready to move on from J.J. McCarthy, who struggled to establish himself last campaign. Inconsistent play and injuries hurt his chances to confirm that he can lead the Vikings to contend. Murray signed a five-year, $230.5 million deal with the Cardinals in 2022.
Whoever ends up signing him will likely offer him a minimum deal, while the Cards will continue to pay him millions.
