Kyler Murray trade rumors don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. The Arizona Cardinals’ star quarterback could join a new team soon. After another disappointing campaign and the resurgence of Jacoby Brissett, the Cardinals’ front office may move on from the former No. 1 pick.

Murray was named one of 10 NFL stars who would play on a different team in 2025, alongside other high-profile names such as Las Vegas Raiders’ Maxx Crosby, Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett, and New York Jets’ Breece Hall.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been mentioned among the teams that may have a real interest in the quarterback. Whoever wants to make a swing for Murray will have to pay a certain price.

Kyler Murray Would Be Available For a Second-Round Pick

Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports speculated about what it would take to land Kyler Murray in the 2026 NFL offseason. The analyst believes Murray could be available for a second-round pick.

“As CBS Sports’ Joel Corry notes, Murray’s situation will need to come to a head before March 15th (the fifth day of the 2026 league year), as that’s when his $19.7 million base salary for 2027 becomes fully guaranteed,” Sullivan writes. “With that in mind, this potential trade could come together early in the offseason.

“Another factor that could drive a Murray trade is that the quarterback class at the 2026 NFL Draft isn’t particularly strong, so teams may be more inclined to target a veteran like Murray. As for a possible return, the Seahawks secured a third-round pick in exchange for Geno Smith a year ago. When healthy, Murray is a much more talented quarterback, so the Cardinals should be looking at an earlier Day 2 pick in the form of a second-rounder.”

The Cardinals moved on from Jonathan Gannon and hired Mike LaFleur as their new head coach. They have a long offseason ahead, with many decisions to make. Murray could be the next domino piece to fall.
