Lamar Jackson and the Ravens’ 2025 season is over, and it was at the hands of a missed field goal. As it turns out, it could’ve gone differently if refs had been paying attention. The Baltimore Ravens went into Week 18 with a chance to win the AFC North and advance to the playoffs.

It was a slow game to start, but the last five minutes had plenty of fireworks. The Steelers scored a touchdown with 55 seconds left in the game. However, kicker Chris Boswell missed the extra point. That meant Baltimore just needed a field goal to win.

After a long kick return and a huge fourth-down reception, the Ravens were set up with a 44-yard field goal. Rookie kicker Tyler Loop came out and missed the kick wide right. Upon review after the game, it appeared that Pittsburgh had gotten away with something.

Ben Skowronek tried to jump over left guard Emery Jones. He is allowed to do that. However, he is not allowed to push off the back of a teammate to do so. This was a contest where fans thought things were already rigged.

Now Lamar Jackson has something to say about this.

Was there actually a missed penalty on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the final play of the game? There’s some buzz about whether Ben Skowronek used his arms to push off the back of Cam Heyward. That is not allowed.

Jason McCourty posted on X that the referees should have called it. It was none other than Lamar Jackson who reacted with just four letters: “smfh.”

In the loss to the Steelers, Lamar completed 11 of 18 passes for 238 yards. He also had three touchdowns and an interception. Jackson did all he could to put his team in a position to win the game.

“I thought we had it in the bag,” Jackson told reporters after the game.

As for the Steelers, they will host the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round on Monday, January 12.
