For the third straight year, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens saw their season end in devastating fashion.
And though Sunday’s 26-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers wasn’t a playoff game, you can argue it’s the most crushing loss of Lamar Jackson’s career. With the season on the line, kicker Tyler Loop missed a game-winning 44-yard attempt:

The missed kick clinched the AFC North for Pittsburgh and kept Baltimore out of the postseason for just the second time in the Jackson era. And regardless of how you feel about the two-time MVP, it’s hard not to feel for Jackson as he watched Loop miss the kick:
HEARTBREAKING: #Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson reaction to the Baltimore missing the field goal was heart-wrenching to watch.
Lamar came back from injury and gave his team everything he had tonight.
The worst possible way to lose.

This comes a year after Baltimore fell to the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round, when Mark Andrews dropped a game-tying two-point conversion attempt. A year earlier, some costly turnovers cost Baltimore in a 17-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
Per ESPN, the 28-year-old Lamar Jackson finished the night with 238 passing yards, three touchdowns and a pick on 18 pass attempts.
