Las Vegas Raiders’ Ridiculous Asking Price For Blockbuster Maxx Crosby Trade Revealed

Teams that want to trade for Las Vegas Raiders superstar defensive end Maxx Crosby will have to offer up a king’s ransom. And more.
On Wednesday, news broke that Maxx Crosby is likely done with the Raiders. This comes less than two months after Crosby walked out of the team facility after being told by coaches that he would be shut down for the remainder of the season.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports broke the news of the looming divorce between Crosby and the Raiders in an interview with Yahoo Sports.
As for the cost? Glazer believes it’ll be higher than what the Green Bay Packers paid for superstar defensive tackle Micah Parsons. Packers GM Brian Gutekunst gave up two first-round picks and star defensive tackle Kenny Clark to the Dallas Cowboys for Parsons.
“Probably more than Micah,” Glazer said.

That’s a little surprising, given that Maxx Crosby (29 in August) is two years older than Parsons, who had just turned 26 when he was dealt. But the Packers were acquiring Parsons in a contract year and had to give him a four-year extension worth $188 million.
Last year, Crosby and the Raiders agreed to a three-year extension that keeps him under contract through 2029. So, whichever team lands Crosby won’t have to worry about negotiating a record-breaking deal.
Maxx Crosby Deserves To Play For A Contender

In some ways, it’s impressive that Crosby stayed loyal to the Raiders for seven seasons. They’ve only made the postseason once (in 2021) since he entered the league seven years ago.
Las Vegas has recycled through coaches, executives and quarterbacks during Crosby’s seven NFL seasons. They clearly aren’t close to contention, and it’s understandable that Crosby is finally ready to leave.
The Raiders can start their rebuild by taking Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 pick. Trading Crosby would only land them more valuable draft capital to spearhead a looming rebuild. All while giving Crosby the opportunity to finally play for a winner elsewhere.
