Alex Vesia delivered another solid campaign for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2025, although their bullpen ran into some rough winds. However, the lefty reliever did not play any part for the Dodgers in the World Series. The team cited his absence at the time as a personal matter. It later came to light that Vesia and his wife, Kayla, lost their newborn daughter.
The Los Angeles Rams offered their condolences with a truly heartwarming gesture, spreading across sports, to the family of Alex Vesia. The NFL franchise presented the pitcher with a signed jersey from the team ahead of their National Conference Championship Game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
“Thank you to the Rams for all the love and kindness,” Vesia posted on his Instagram story.
The Rams gifted Alex Vesia a jersey signed by their players with the name “S. Vesia” on the back and number 1.

“Cheering you guys on—bring it home!” he added.
The Rams came up just short in the contest against the Seahawks, however, losing 31-27 in the title game. The winners go on to face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX on February 9th at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Alex Vesia Revealed the Death of His Child After the World Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers reported on October 23rd, 2025, that Alex Vesia had left the team due to a “deep personal family matter.” His last appearance for the team came about a week earlier against the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series. Vesia publicly announced the loss of his daughter after the conclusion of the World Series on November 9th.
“Our little angel we love you forever & you’re with us always,” Alex Vesia penned in an Instagram post sharing the news about the passing of his infant child.
“Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday October 26th. There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her.”
The cause of death was not disclosed at the time. The Dodgers wore hats with 51 during the World Series, the number that Alex Vesia wears on his uniform.
