Tempers flared between veterans Maxx Crosby and Elandon Roberts on the sidelines during the Las Vegas Raiders’ ugly home loss to the Cleveland Browns yesterday.

The Raiders had a golden opportunity to get back in the win column at home against a 2-8 Browns team that had to start rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders in place of an injured Dillon Gabriel.

But it was the Browns who made easy work of Maxx Crosby and the Raiders in a convincing 24-10 road win. Having seen enough from the underperforming offense, the Raiders fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly hours after the loss.

During Sunday’s miserable performance at Allegiant Stadium, cameras caught Crosby and Roberts exchanging words in a testy scene on the sidelines. Both players had a teammate step in to cool down and de-escalate the situation before it got worse:

With the loss, the 2-9 Raiders have now clinched a fourth straight losing season. Obviously, this was not the plan when they hired Carroll and Kelly before bringing in Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith and prized running back prospect Ashton Jeanty.

The Raiders defense is now allowing 25.2 points per game through 11 weeks, per ESPN, with no signs of improvement.
