Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby dropped some more eye-popping details about his visit with the Baltimore Ravens before they nixed the blockbuster trade.
Two weeks ago, the Ravens and Raiders agreed to the framework of a Maxx Crosby trade. Baltimore would land the five-time Pro Bowl defensive end, with the Raiders receiving two first-round picks in return.
But in a stunning twist, the Ravens nixed the trade after Crosby failed a physical last week. Baltimore GM Eric DeCosta admitted he was “gutted” by the canceled trade and called it “a big regret” on his end.
During the latest episode of Crosby’s “The Rush” podcast, the 28-year-old detailed his awkward visit with the Ravens before the trade was canceled. Crosby admitted the vibe seemed “off” before they scrapped the deal (via Eva Geitheim of Sports Illustrated):
“I’m so excited, fired-up, this is a new opportunity. You could just tell the energy was off. I dapped (head coach Jesse Minter) up and he had a blank face. I’m not thinking anything of it, maybe he’s just different.
I don’t know him. I go into the room, they sit me down on the couch and go, ‘I don’t know how to say this. One of our doctors have concerns with the results, with your knee. Some of them are concerned about the future. We really want you. We’re just gonna have to get more and more opinions…
Everyone’s got to their own conspiracy theory. No one will ever admit what the real truth is. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter. I am where I’m supposed to be. I know that.”
Maxx Crosby says on @TheRushWithMaxx that he didn’t see #Ravens GM Eric DeCosta or HC Jesse Minter during the first 5 hours of his visit, and when he finally met with DeCosta, the energy felt off. DeCosta then informed him they had concerns about his medicals.

It was reported soon after the nixed trade that the Raiders plan to hold onto Maxx Crosby. In the meantime, the Ravens have some more holes to fill after missing the postseason for just the second time in Lamar Jackson’s eight seasons.
Raiders Can Always Look At Trading Maxx Crosby Down The Road

If the Raiders decide to revisit Crosby trade discussions as soon as possible? They certainly won’t get maximum value for him. Not after the Ravens backed out of a potential league-altering blockbuster trade.
But if Crosby stays healthy and returns to his elite form? The Raiders could always look at moving him at the 2026 trade deadline. Or, they could wait until next offseason, when teams are usually more aggressive in the trade market.
For now, it appears Crosby and the Raiders are planning to move forward together. For a team devoid of game-changers on both sides of the ball, keeping Crosby around isn’t the worst move by any means.
