Maxx Crosby’s agent has weighed in following the unraveling of the offseason’s biggest trade

The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Tuesday night that the Baltimore Ravens had backed out of a trade for the star defensive end.

The trade would have seen Crosby head to Baltimore in exchange for two first-round picks. But the Ravens have pulled out, which likely means the five-time Pro Bowler is headed elsewhere.

League sources told ESPN that the Ravens rescinded the deal because of medical concerns that arose during a physical,” The Worldwide Leader in Sports reported. “The specifics of the concerns are unknown.”

Crosby underwent surgery on a torn meniscus in early January.

The player’s agent, CJ LaBoy, took to X after the news broke, claiming that Crosby’s recovery is ahead of schedule.

“Maxx continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule according to his surgeon Dr Neal El Attrache,” he wrote. “Maxx remains on track to return during the offseason program & will undoubtedly return as the dominant game wrecker he has been these past 7 seasons.”

The trade would have been official as of this Wednesday.

The Raiders now have to decide whether they will keep Crosby or try to trade him again. The Dallas Cowboys have emerged as frontrunners to get a deal done, having pursued the DE before an agreement was struck with Baltimore.

As for the Ravens, they will have to decide whether to upgrade their pass rush in free agency, given that it was a sore point last season. The NFL Draft is also not that far off.
