Rondale Moore’s tragic death took the NFL off guard, with many teams sharing their condolences with the wide receiver’s family and friends. Moore, 26, played three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, where he appeared in 39 games, catching 135 passes on 182 targets for 1,201 yards and three touchdowns.
He was found dead at his Indiana home on Saturday, officials informed. He died of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound, police chief Todd Bailey said. The death remains under investigation.
After the first three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, he joined the Atlanta Falcons ahead of the 2024 season. Moore suffered a season-ending injury. The Purdue standout then joined the Minnesota Vikings, but another season-ending injury frustrated his chances to share touches with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
Maxx Crosby Reflects on Rondale Moore’s Tragic Passing

On Saturday night, Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby sent a message on Rondale Moore’s death. He recalled one time he saw Moore’s talent firsthand and compared him to Tyreek Hill.
“Rest in peace, Rondale Moore,” Crosby said. “I’ll give a little story. Sucks having to do this after he’s not here and I know it’s so fresh but it’s on my mind. I played this man in college. We went to Purdue and played the Boilermakers on their field. I remember playing against Rondale Moore and I was like, ‘That’s the coldest dude I’ve ever been on the field with, up to that point.’ He was like Tyreek Hill in college. First Team All-American as a freshman.
“I remember, I still might have the messages but I’ll send them of Mike Mayock the next year he went to the draft and I was like, ‘We need Rondale Moore, this dude is Tyreek Hill.’ But God bro, check on your people. Too much hate in this world. Stay positive. It’s unbelievable. Sending out prayers to his whole family and everybody going through it. But Rondale, rest in peace. Damn. Take care of your people man love y’all.”
