Maxx Crosby’s Shocking Trade ‘First Choice’ Emerges Amid Explosive Rumors

Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby continues to be mentioned in trade rumors around the NFL. After a tumultuous end to his 2025 campaign (the Raiders shut him down for Weeks 17 and 18), Crosby’s relationship with the team might not be in the best place.
The Raiders will start a new era with Klint Kubiak as head coach. Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza will likely be their starting quarterback. They appear to be building an exciting project, but the questions surrounding Crosby haven’t vanished.
Reports about an imminent split between the player and the team surfaced on Wednesday. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that Crosby wanted to play for the New England Patriots.
“Maxx Crosby doesn’t seem too happy in Las Vegas,” Russini said on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Zolak & Bertrand” program. “I know he wants to play for Mike Vrabel. He’s told me before.”
The Patriots, however, may not be the only team that interests Crosby at this point.
Maxx Crosby Has The Detroit Lions As his First Choice In A Potential Trade

Fox Sports insider Jay Glazer said that Crosby was done with the Raiders. He speculated that the right package for Crosby would be higher than what the Dallas Cowboys got for Micah Parsons. Sports Illustrated’s John Maakaron wrote on Wednesday that the Detroit Lions are Crosby’s first choice in a potential trade.
“According to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, if the decision is made by the Raiders’ front office to trade the 28-year-old, the Detroit Lions are Crosby’s clear first choice,” Maakaron wrote.
Maxx Crosby has close ties to Eastern Michigan. Pairing him with Aidan Hutchinson would make the Lions Super Bowl contenders, but the price won’t be low for a player of his caliber.
