The Maxx Crosby saga came to an end, at least for now, when the Baltimore Ravens backed out of the trade they agreed to with the Baltimore Ravens. After Crosby failed his physical, the Ravens opted out of the deal, got their first-round picks back and sent Crosby back to Allegiant Stadium.
Rumors and speculation about Crosby’s health and whether the Ravens made a decision based on the player’s health or it was a financial call. He committed again to the team, but the possibility of a trade hasn’t vanished.
However, the latest development could put the rumors to sleep for good. Crosby’s knee could be the end of it all.
Maxx Crosby’s Knee Could Be Cause Of Concern For NFL Teams

USA Today’s Lions Wire, Jimmy Liao, MD, noted that Maxx Crosby’s surgeon inadvertently revealed what happened to Crosby and why that makes it hard for him to
“The key quote is here describing the damage to the knee,” Dr. Liao notes, quoting Crosby’s doctor’s report. “…a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee.”
“These words suggest that Crosby does not just have meniscus damage, but also bone and articular cartilage damage,” the doctor adds.
“If the articular cartilage damage was newly discovered (or revealed) at the physical, this could absolutely explain why the Ravens felt the need to reconsider the trade and eventually cancel it.” Dr. Liao adds that “any articular cartilage damage creates much more concern for Crosby both short and long-term.”
This development would put the Raiders in a more complex position if they want to trade the defensive end. Crosby’s asking price was huge before the Ravens pulled the trigger. Now that he’s back in Las Vegas, the Raiders should have to lower it.
