A mic’d up video shows the fascinating postgame handshake and interaction between Sean McVay and Ben Johnson after Sunday’s thrilling Divisional Round tilt at Soldier Field.

Sean McVay’s Rams outlasted the Bears 20-17 in overtime to punch their ticket to the NFC Championship Game. Los Angeles will take on the top-seeded Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on Sunday to determine the conference champion.

Leading up to the game, McVay made headlines when he referred to Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur as one of his “close” friends. Some fans interpreted that as McVay having a dislike for Ben Johnson.

The latter had three interesting postgame handshakes with LaFleur this season. And fans paid close attention to their handshakes, as Johnson said he liked “beating Matt LaFleur twice a year” at his Bears’ introductory press conference a year ago, per ESPN.

“Inside the NFL” shared a video of Sean McVay’s postgame handshakes with Johnson and Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. McVay kept his interaction with Johnson short and sweet, so make of it as you will:

Unfortunately, the Rams and Bears will not meet during the regular season next year. Unless there’s a rematch in the playoffs, it’ll be a while until we see the next interaction between McVay and Johnson.

Incredibly, Andy Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs is the only active NFL head coach with multiple Super Bowl rings. Reid, of course, led KC to victories in the 2019, 2022 and 2023 seasons.

But McVay is now just two victories away from joining the exclusive club with Reid. And considering how explosive the offense has been all season, and how much McVay has owned the Seahawks? Nobody should be surprised if LA gets the job done.

The winner of the NFC Championship Game will likely be favored in the Super Bowl. The Rams and Seahawks split the regular-season series, and the stakes couldn’t be any higher in the rubber match.

Kickoff for the NFC title game is set for 6:30 p.m. EST.
