Michael Irvin did not hold back on his former team during an appearance on ESPN’s First Take on Monday.
The Dallas Cowboys fell 33-30 in overtime to the Arizona Cardinals.
Dallas led 24-10 early in the fourth quarter before Arizona scored 20 straight points. The NFC East side had never lost at home after leading by 14 or more points in the fourth quarter before Sunday.
Irvin, one of the more outspoken former players, was not a happy man on Monday
Stephen A. Smith. Smith had criticized head coach Brian Schottenheimer for calling himself a great coach. He suggested that the Cowboys should pursue Rex Ryan instead. “I promise you, with four days preparation, that man will do a better job,” Smith said. “I’d bet my check on it,” he added.
“That’s an easy bet, Steve. It’s a nice bet,” Irvin replied before going on to claim that literally anyone could do a better job of coaching the team.
“There is no worse that you can be,” he said. “So anybody, anybody, my dead mom can coach them better.”
Even Stephen A. was thrown off…

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is not planning to change coaches this season despite how bad things have gotten under Schottenheimer.
The loss dropped Dallas to 3-5. The Cowboys are now set to visit the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday for a game they simply shouldn’t lose.
