Mike Evans’ NFL future became a popular topic around the league as soon as the 2025 season ended for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A broken collarbone injury limited him to just eight games. This brought his streak of consecutive 1,000-yard seasons to an end after 11 years.

Multiple rumors have circulated about Evans’ future, including retirement ones. The veteran will run it back in 2026, but perhaps not with the Bucs. A recent report indicated that Tampa Bay would move on from him this offseason.

Meanwhile, multiple teams have been linked with the wideout, who confirmed he was still a threat when he returned from injury. One of those teams is an AFC powerhouse that would use his talents to try to get over the hump.

X account “NFL Rumors” tweeted on Monday that CBS Sports predicted Mike Evans would join the Buffalo Bills in the 2026 NFL free agency.

While the tweet should be taken with a pinch of salt, Zachary Pereles of CBS Sports named the Bills, along with the Baltimore Ravens, as potential suitors for Evans on Feb. 2.

On Thursday, Pereles noted that the Bucs would look very different without Evans on the field. He and quarterback Baker Mayfield formed a terrific tandem that still showed flashes in 2025.

However, it seems that Josh Allen and Co. can have the upper hand if Evans and the Bucs end up going their separate ways. Allen has lacked a true WR1 since Stefon Diggs left after the 2023 season. Evans is past his 30s, but last season proved that he can still make an impact.
