Mike Vrabel’s first speech to his players as the New England Patriots’ head coach has resurfaced ahead of Super Bowl 60.

The likely 2025 NFL Coach of the Year led his Patriots to a 14-3 regular season record. They defeated the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game, setting up a Super Bowl 60 clash with the Seattle Seahawks.

You don’t have to watch too much Patriots football to understand how much the players love their coach. Just look at the viral moment in the Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Chargers, where Milton Williams headbutted Mike Vrabel in excitement, leaving the coach with a bleeding lip.

With Super Bowl 60 drawing closer, a video of Vrabel’s epic first speech to the Patriots has gone viral. The 2021 Coach of the Year outlined simple rules, including no hoods down during meetings, phones in bags and no coughing to cover ringing phones.

Vrabel added that equipment staff, kitchen staff, and other team employees aren’t personal butlers, valets or maids. The players are to treat them “with the utmost respect,” Vrabel added.

The standards were set from day one, and the Patriots players immediately bought in. That, folks, is why they’re back in the Super Bowl.

Things were awfully dull in New England following Tom Brady’s departure in 2020. They had just one winning season and playoff appearance from 2021 to 2024. Jerod Mayo, Robert Kraft’s handpicked successor to Bill Belichick, lasted just one season.

But Vrabel, a key cog of the Patriots’ first dynasty that won three championships, has restored a winning culture in Foxborough. It took him just one year to bring them back to contention.

The season can only be classified as a success, no matter what happens next Sunday. Vrabel’s Patritos are just getting started, and they’ll be in the mix for years to come.
