NFL fans kept the receipts and are letting ESPN’s Mina Kimes know about it after one of her old takes resurfaced.

Mina Kimes is a well-known fan of the Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Mariners. Unlike many other notable ESPN personalities, Kimes isn’t afraid to offer her insight on the teams she passionately supports.

Kimes has to be happy today after watching her beloved Seahawks defeat the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Seattle won its first NFC Championship in 11 years, and Mike Macdonald’s group will now take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60.

Even though the Seahawks lost star running back Zach Charbonnet for the season, Sam Darnold was practically flawless in Sunday’s win over Los Angeles. Clearly, the decision to trade Geno Smith and sign Darnold in free agency worked out perfectly.

But 10 months ago? Mina Kimes strongly disagreed with the Seahawks’ decision to trade Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders:

And social media was sure to remind Kimes of her take that aged like milk:

“Yikes this was not a good take even though Mia is pretty good most of the time,” said a user.

“Oooooooooooooooooof,” a fan commented.

“update????” asked a user.

“This didn’t age well,” wrote another

“@stickermule frame this,” a fan added.

All we can say is that Kimes has to be beyond thrilled she was totally wrong here.

The Seahawks traded the 2022 Comeback Player of the Year to the Raiders for a third-round pick. Geno Smith won just two of 15 starts and had 19 touchdowns against 17 interceptions, per Pro Football Reference.

Las Vegas finished as the worst team in football with a 3-14 record. Pete Carroll was fired after one season, a year marred by dysfunction that included Maxx Crosby walking out of the facility after a disagreement with coaches.

Seattle gave Darnold a three-year, $100.5 million deal in free agency after his career year with the Minnesota Vikings. Fast forward 10 months, and he’s now a win away from leading Seattle to a Super Bowl title.

Kimes, like so many Darnold critics, just had to trust the process.
