Chase Young and the Saints had the chance to help the Tampa Bay Bucs into the playoffs. All they had to do was defeat the hated rival Atlanta Falcons. It would not come easily.

It was yet another classic NFC South matchup from the heated rivals as Atlanta came out on top. The win was their fourth-straight win. Their winning streak was not enough to save the job for head coach Raheem Morris. He was fired hours after the game.

Tyler Shough did all he could during this contest. He completed 23-of-35 passes for 259 yards with one touchdown. Ultimately, the Saints fell to the Falcons, 19-17. They finished the season with a 6-11 record.

Following the game, a group of Falcons fans gathered near the locker rooms, cheering for their team. At the same time they were cheering, Chase Young was coming through. They heckled him until he argued back with them before he walked off.

The Washington Commanders hit the reset button in 2023 when they traded Chase Young to the San Francisco 49ers for a third-round draft pick.

He would be on the Super Bowl team that lost to the Chiefs. However, there were rumors that he would be benched due to his poor effort displayed on the bench. His time with the 49ers would end, and he would sign with the Saints in 2024.

Young would reward them with his play on the field. Chase recorded 5.5 sacks, his highest total since his rookie year. He added 31 tackles, 21 QB hits, and a forced fumble in 17 games. Chase Young returned to the Saints for the 2025 season, and he was even better.

In the final game of the season, he recorded his 10th sack of the year. His career has turned around for the better.

He is currently playing on a three-year, $51 million contract extension.
