NBC Sports has made changes to “Football Night in America” after the 2025 NFL season. The former coach spent 17 years with the network, but many fans grew frustrated with him in recent years.

FNIA could have multiple roles to fill this offseason, with Mike Tomlin, Kirk Cousins and even Travis Kelce mentioned as potential targets for the network. Drew Lerner of Awful Announcing reported at the end of February that more changes could come with Dungy leaving the show.

“Awful Announcing has learned that it is unlikely analyst Rodney Harrison will return next season and that Jac Collinsworth’s role on the show is also in question. Along with Dungy, the trio made up the show’s satellite studio that traveled on-site to each Sunday Night Football game throughout the season,” Lerner wrote.

“The shakeup might not be limited to the three-person studio of Dungy, Harrison, and Collinsworth. Fantasy analyst Matthew Berry has talked publicly about his contract expiring this year, which would make his future on the show uncertain.”

On Thursday, Tony Dungy sent a message on X to inform fans he won’t return to FNIA in 2026.

“I have been informed by NBC that I won’t be back with FNIA this fall and it has given me time to reflect and also to look ahead,” Dungy wrote. “It’s disappointing news but I want to thank my NBC family for making the last 17 years so special. I’ll have lasting memories of my time there, especially with Rodney Harrison who has become a tremendous friend.”

NBC Sports could have a renewed lineup for 2026, but while several names will go in the following months, it is unclear who will replace them.
