New Footage Exposes Roquan Smith’s Extremely Dirty Tackle On Josh Allen [VIDEO]

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith is facing heavy criticism from Buffalo Bills fans. This came after he grabbed Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s facemask.

He not only grabbed it, but yanked his head backward during a goal-line quarterback sneak. Furthermore, it caused Allen’s helmet to be turned in a brutal way. His entire head and neck appeared to be twisted in a way no human body should ever be.

Now that we are a few days away from the game, more footage has since come out.

New Footage of Roquan Smith’s Dirty Tackle on Josh Allen Goes Viral

Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith grabbed Allen’s helmet and nearly pulled it off his head.

On a goal-line rushing attempt by Josh Allen during the Bills’ 36–10 blowout win, footage shows Smith grasping Allen’s facemask and twisting/pulling his helmet with significant force. Now, new sideline footage shows just how terrible that tackle was.

Officials did not throw a flag on the field, allowing the touchdown to stand. Allen was not seriously injured on the play and finished the game.

Back in Week 2, Roquan Smith did something similar to New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough. Smith ended up getting hit with a fine from the NFL, but he was not flagged during the game, either.

“The NFL fined Ravens LB Roquan Smith $11,941 for grabbing Saints QB Tyler Shough’s facemask on this play last week,” The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero wrote. “No flag was thrown, but officials ruled Shough scored a TD, and it stood upon review.”

These plays are extremely dangerous and could cause a serious injury. There is no excuse for what Smith did in either instance.

We are still awaiting the league’s announcement on how they will handle the situation. Because he is a two-time offender, a fine would be even higher, and a suspension might be on the table.
