Jalen Hurts endured a frustrating sequence during Philadelphia’s 27-7 loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday. The Eagles quarterback had just left the field for a concussion evaluation when Andy Dalton entered.
Philadelphia reached the Chicago 1-yard line and looked poised to tie the game. However, the situation changed quickly after Dalton threw an interception in the end zone.
Hurts remained near the medical tent as the turnover unfolded. Footage now shows the quarterback appearing visibly frustrated while watching the possession end without points.

The Eagles had moved deep into Chicago territory before Hurts left the game. Saquon Barkley then gained 14 yards, putting Philadelphia at the Bears’ 1-yard line.
Dalton entered for Hurts and attempted a pass toward the back of the end zone. Bears rookie safety Dillon Thieneman stepped in front of the intended receiver for his first NFL interception.
The video shows Hurts standing near the blue medical tent when the turnover occurs. He appears to react with frustration as the Eagles lose their scoring opportunity.
NBC Sports reported that Hurts had appeared upset after leaving the medical tent, adding that he received clearance shortly after Dalton’s interception.
Hurts later explained that he believed the evaluation had already been completed. He said he was simply waiting for medical personnel to give him permission to return.
“I was still waiting,” he said. “Just waiting for the thumbs up. Obviously wish they could have expedited things. I felt fine.”
Andy Dalton’s Interception Changed A Critical Moment

The interception proved especially costly because Philadelphia had moved within one yard of scoring. A touchdown would have tied the game at seven before halftime.
Dalton later accepted responsibility for the mistake and explained what he missed on the play.
He said he failed to recognize the safety positioned in the middle of the field.
“I obviously didn’t see the safety in the middle and he just read my eyes,” he said. “I can’t turn the ball over in that situation.”
Hurts returned after the interception and finished the game for Philadelphia. He completed 16 of 25 passes for 153 yards while throwing one interception. He also rushed four times for 25 yards and scored Philadelphia’s only touchdown.
Philadelphia ultimately managed just seven points against Chicago’s defense. The Eagles also committed three turnovers while their defense failed to force one.
The loss dropped Philadelphia to 2-1 after the Eagles opened the season with consecutive victories. For Hurts, the sideline footage captured another frustrating moment from a difficult night in Chicago.
