NFC Heavyweight Is Reportedly Eyeing Blockbuster Trade For Dolphins RB De’Von Achane That Would Be Totally Unfair

Miami Dolphins star running back De’Von Achane has dominated the recent trade rumors following the blockbuster deal that sent wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos.
No NFL team has undergone more roster changes up to this point than the Dolphins. Before trading Waddle, they released former All-Pro wideout Tyreek Hill and starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who signed with the Atlanta Falcons for the veteran’s minimum.
With the Dolphins rebuilding and De’Vone Achane entering the final year of his deal, it’s logical to think that he’s on the trade block. For what it’s worth, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported last week that the Dolphins aren’t shopping Achane.

Now that the first two weeks of free agency are over, speculation is growing about the Seattle Seahawks making a play for Achane.

Jeremy Brener of Sports Illustrated is one of several writers who have made a case for Seattle to acquire De’Von Achane:
“The Dolphins’ price for Achane will likely be too high for the Seahawks to consider. The Seahawks only have four draft picks this offseason, and even though they are the Super Bowl champions, they need draft picks to continue the flow of the roster for future seasons.
That being said, Achane is a special type of player, and the Seahawks should absolutely consider the idea of acquiring him in a trade if he were to be made available. A trade for Achane with an extension on top of that gives the Seahawks their running back for the next several years. Achane is still just 24 years old, so there’s potential that he has a long career ahead of him still.”
As the Dolphins continue to rebuild with premium draft picks, there’s increasing belief that RB De’Von Achane could be traded, with the Seahawks being a possible suitor.

The Seahawks lost their top running back, Super Bowl 60 MVP Kenneth Walker III, to the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency. Zach Charbonnet and newcomer Emanuel Wilson currently headline their RB room.
Dolphins Don’t Need To Rush A De’Von Achane Trade

Miami should definitely trade Achane if a long-term contract extension isn’t in the cards. That said, they do not need to rush a deal right now.
RB-needy teams can wait until next month’s NFL Draft to bolster their RB rooms. At this time, Miami is better off holding onto Achane for the start of 2026. If they’re out of the playoff race, the Dolphins can wait until the trade deadline to move him.
The Carolina Panthers scored a massive haul from the San Francisco 49ers in their mid-season blockbuster trade involving Christian McCaffrey in 2020. Miami would get a strong package for Achane, too.
Per Pro Football Reference, Achane has 3,057 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns over his first three NFL seasons.
