Netflix’s interest in sports continues to increase, and they appear set to raise the bar in 2026. The giant streaming company agreed to a three-year, $75 million deal with the NFL to broadcast its Christmas Day package. The deal runs through the 2026 campaign, but considering its plans, Netflix won’t give up on that easily.
Netflix could step in and add a couple of games in the upcoming season to the grid.
After broadcasting the Christmas Day games, several boxing bouts, WWE and even this season’s MLB Opening Day, Netflix’s new NFL plans could be the cherry on top.
Netflix’s NFL Plans Include Two More Games in 2026

According to Jessica Toonkel and Joe Flint of the Wall Street Journal, Netflix plans to add the league’s new Thanksgiving Eve game and one international game. This year, the NFL will play a record nine international games. It will start in Week 1 with the Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers duel.
A Netflix spokesperson declined to comment on the report, saying that the company didn’t participate in the original story, per The Daily Mail.
The first season of the Christmas Day games was amazing for the company. The second one didn’t go as expected, as many teams featured in the slate didn’t play at a good level. 2026 could change that.
