NFL Announces Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show Shattered Insane Record

A lot was said about the NFL after it announced Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl halftime show. Months of negative discourse flooded the internet over his selection. Fans wanted a singer who spoke English. Turning Point even created its own halftime show.
The backlash towards him did not end once he finally got on stage. In fact, it only got louder. President Donald Trump called Bad Bunny’s set “absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!” on his social media platform Truth Social. He had the chance to watch the alternative Halftime show, but still chose to watch the NFL version.
Amid the backlash, his show delivered in every way possible. Bunny’s Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show fell short of the record for most-watched Super Bowl halftime show, but he still made history. Bunny’s halftime show on NBC averaged 128.2 million viewers, according to Nielsen’s Big Data + Panel rating system. That figure ranks as the fourth-highest-rated halftime show ever, behind performances by Kendrick Lamar in 2025, Michael Jackson in 1993, and Usher in 2024.
That was just the start of the announcements.
Bad Bunny Sets Viewership Record

The Puerto Rican superstar did it. Bad Bunny has reportedly set a new benchmark for Super Bowl halftime performances. He reportedly generated 4.157 billion views within 24 hours.
Roc Nation said the worldwide figure combines U.S. broadcast, international broadcast, YouTube, and additional digital platforms. They characterized the total as a record audience for the event. A detailed breakdown of the calculation was not released.

It looks like Bad Bunny had the last laugh.
