NFL fans believe they know what’s wrong with Saquon Barkley amid his dismal second season with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Barkley, the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, rushed for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns on 345 carries last season, helping his team win the Super Bowl, but he isn’t likely to come near such numbers this term.

Barkley has logged 740 rushing yards and four touchdowns in 12 games for the Eagles in 2025, averaging a meager 3.7 yards per carry, a career low since 2021.

The former New York Giants running back has plenty working against him this season. For one, the Eagles’ offensive line isn’t quite what it used to be, while opposing defenses are more prepared to deal with the run.

There’s also the matter of the long-running “Madden Curse,” however, fans are blaming President Donald Trump for the Pro Bowler’s dip in form.

“Saquon Barkley met trump and became a bum. Eagles offense is trash,” one claimed after the Eagles’ Black Friday loss to the Chicago Bears.

“Saquon Barkley ever since he hungout with Trump,” another shared.

“saquon barkley ain’t been the same since chilling with trump,” said a third.

“Trump curse overrides madden curse. Them the rules🤷,” someone claimed.

“Barkley was stacking bad juju this offseason. Trump curse, madden curse, 400 carry curse. Dude never stood a chance,” one user noted.

Barkley played a round with Trump in Bedminster, New Jersey, during the offseason, sparking widespread criticism that prompted him to defend himself

He later turned down an opportunity to form part of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.
