The Marvin Harrison Jr. trade remains a mystery into Saturday evening.

Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport reported that the Cardinals were finalizing a deal in the morning. Neither named the other team involved.

Schefter said Houston is “thought to be” in the mix, citing a Texans source who said they, “can’t confirm or deny at this time.”

Even so, Pro Football Talk reported that the Texans look like the likely landing spot. Houston’s schedule now has fans building a theory.

They seem to believe that the trade depends on Sunday’s game. Houston visits Tennessee at noon, with both teams 0-4 to start the season.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler raised the same question on X.

“One question with Houston. Is a deal contingent on winning Sunday? Falling to 0-5 would seemingly make a splash trade less attractive,” he wondered.

A win would put Houston at 1-4. A loss would leave the Texans 0-5, a hole no team has escaped to make the playoffs.

History offers little hope either way. According to Pro Football Talk, only the 1992 Chargers made the playoffs after an 0-4 start.

Fans have their own takes on the theory in the replies.

“Losing to the 2026 Titans is a fate worse than being 0-5,” one wrote.

“Yeah like improving to 1-4 makes a difference LMFAO,” another wrote.

“Ok. Like 1-4 is so much better?” asked a third.

“Yes absolutely. This is what I’m trying to get people to understand but they are convinced it’s Adam Shefter controlling the universe through a betting company,” another fan claimed.

Heavy reports that the trade is not expected to be finalized until after Week 5’s games. That leaves room for other suitors. The Jets could still make a late push if they meet Arizona’s price.

For now, the answer likely waits until Sunday’s final whistle in Nashville.
