NFL fans are destroying Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young for pulling a Cam Newton during Saturday’s pivotal clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Young and the Panthers came into Tampa needing a win or a tie to clinch their first NFC South division title since 2015. But Carolina’s offense struggled mightily throughout the wet conditions at Raymond James Stadium, turning the ball over twice.

Trailing by nine points in the fourth quarter, Carolina lost a fumble in Tampa territory on a botched handoff. Worse yet, Young didn’t put in much of an effort to recover the fumble, drawing comparisons to Cam Newton in Super Bowl 50.

Fans destroyed Young for his awful effort on this play.

“Bryce Young does his best Cam Newton impression,” said Dov Kleiman.

“Ask a panthers qb to jump on the fumble in the biggest games,” wrote another.

“BRYCE YOUNG JUST PULLED A CAM NEWTON. OH MY GOODNESS,” wrote ML Football.

“Panthers QBs and refusing to jump on fumbles. Name a better duo?” a user quipped.

The Panthers fell 16-14 in a mistake-filled affair, meaning they need an Atlanta Falcons victory over the New Orleans Saints to win the NFC South. Otherwise, Carolina’s playoff drought extends to eight seasons.
