Football fans are teeing off on ESPN and Jason Kelce over his performance in Monday’s Pro Bowl games.

San Francisco’s Moscone Center hosted the 2026 Pro Bowl festivities, with 49ers legends and Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Steve Young serving as the head coaches for the NFC and AFC, respectively.

ESPN chose Jason Kelce, Scott Van Pelt and Dan Orlovsky to call the game, with Laura Rutledge and Michelle Beisner-Buck reporting from the sidelines. The NFL maintained its flag football format (introduced in 2023) rather than a standard football game.

NFL fans, however, weren’t buying Kelce’s performance as a color commentator for this year’s Pro Bowl.

“All set with this flag football pro bowl, don’t need to listen to Jason Kelce screaming like a moron,” a fan wrote.

“Kelce was annoying 10 mins after his retirement,” said a user.

“Football fans are ripping on ESPN for having Philadelphia Eagles legend and Super Bowl champion Jason Kelce call the Pro BowlDamn it, Jason Kelce! Why did you have to make a 6 7 joke?! 😭😂,” wrote a fan.

“Kelce is awful to listen to,” another commented.

“Jason Kelce should not be on a broadcast ever. He’s just a bully. The NFL is clearly trying to grow the flag football game, and he’s out here just saying whatever pops in his mind. Bruh,” said a fan.

“Kelce SVP and Ryan Clark calling the Pro Bowl… “Turn this tv off,” another commented.

Unhappy fans also called for the NFL to scrap the Pro Bowl entirely during Monday’s game. But as long as millions of fans continue to tune in, Roger Goodell and the league owners will happily keep running it.

After retiring from football, ESPN announced in 2024 that it had hired Kelce as an analyst for ‘Monday Night Countdown.’ The Worldwide Leader in Sports hired Kelce to replace Robert Griffin III, who was subsequently let go from his job.

The Eagles legend announced his retirement after the 2023 season. He spent his entire 13-year career with the NFC East club. Kelce led Philly to two NFC Championships and a Super Bowl 52 victory.

Philadelphia went on to win Super Bowl 59 after Jason’s retirement, fittingly against Jason’s younger brother, Travis Kelce, and his Kansas City Chiefs. The football world is still waiting for Travis’ announcement on his playing future.
