The NFL and HBO have decided to star two of the league’s heavyweights for the next two seasons of the popular ‘Hard Knocks’ series.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks will star in this year’s season of ‘Hard Knocks’. Mike Vrabel’s New England Patriots, the defending AFC champions, will star in the 2027 season.

The Seahawks soundly defeated the Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl 60, avenging their loss to the Patriots in Super Bowl 49. Kenneth Walker III won Super Bowl MVP honors after rushing for 135 yards on 27 carries, per ESPN.

‘Hard Knocks’ debuted in 2001, with the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens taking center stage. Last year, Josh Allen and the reigning AFC East champion Buffalo Bills were featured on the show.

Needless to say, the Seahawks will be getting plenty more national exposure after winning the Super Bowl. We also know they’ll host the NFL Kickoff Game on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Seahawks & Patriots Have Never Starred In ‘Hard Knocks’

The Seahawks and Patriots are among the NFL clubs that have never appeared in the iconic HBO series. In New England’s case, it’s safe to assume HBO never tried hard (if at all) to get Bill Belichick to allow cameras behind the scenes.

This was a guy who simply didn’t caree to speak with the media during his time in New England, after all.

But Mike Vrabel is much friendlier and easier-going with the media. And as the ultimate player’s coach, he should provide great content for fans who tune into the 2027 ‘Hard Knocks’ season.
