NFL Referee Adrian Hill Was Ready To Fight Vikings LB Eric Wilson During Wild Scene In Minny [VIDEO]

NFL ref Adrian Hill worked Sunday’s Dolphins-Vikings game in Minneapolis, calling his fourth assignment of the 2026 season.
Hill had previously gone viral when a mixed-up penalty call had broadcasters cracking up during the season opener broadcast. Sunday’s moment was nothing like that one.
Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson made contact with Hill near the end of a tackle early in the game. The hit looked minor from most camera angles, but Hill still went down hard on the turf. He stayed down for a moment before getting back to his feet on his own.
What happened next drew all sorts of comments. Hill popped back up and got right in Wilson’s face, clearly upset, even as the linebacker reached out to help him up.
A fellow official had to step in and physically pull Hill back before things escalated any further. ESPN’s Kevin Seifert reported the moment on social media, writing that Hill “was not happy to be knocked down” on the play.
Fans React To NFL Ref’s Heated Response On The Field

The exchange spread fast online once it hit X.
One fan said the reaction was, “Unprofessional as hell from Hill.”
“Adrian Hill is soft,” another said.
“Quite the reaction from referee Adrian Hill,” someone else observed.
“Losing composure for no reason is not a good for a ref,” one fan pointed out.
“I like how Eric tried to help him up too,” someone noted.
“😅He does know this is football, right?…” one fan asked.
Hill has officiated NFL games since 2010 and was promoted to referee in 2019, making him one of the more experienced officials working this season. Sunday’s reaction gave fans a side of him they rarely see during a broadcast.
