Kyler Murray appears to be done with the Arizona Cardinals, or is it the other way around?

The quarterback is set to miss the rest of the season with a lingering foot issue. The injury has kept him out of action since October 5, and there’s little to suggest he will play for Arizona again.

“I just feel bad for the quarterback. He got hurt, and he wasn’t healthy enough to play. So I mean, that’s first and foremost. That’s where I would leave it right now,” head coach Jonathan Gannon said, per ESPN.

Murray registered 962 passing yards, 173 rushing yards, and seven total touchdowns in five games for the Cards this season.

He is under contract through 2027 but is expected to be moved at the end of the current term, a sentiment shared by ESPN’s Dan Graziano

“Murray’s contract isn’t easy to escape. He is owed $36.8 million in fully guaranteed salary and bonuses for 2026, and if he’s on the roster on the fifth day of the league year in March, his $19.5 million 2027 salary becomes fully guaranteed,” Graziano notes. “Those kinds of figures tend to buy job security, but given Murray’s struggles this season even before he was injured and the way Jacoby Brissett has been able to operate the offense in Murray’s absence, the writing feels like it’s on the wall for Murray in Arizona. It wouldn’t shock many in the league if the Cardinals moved on after this season.”

One Set Of Fans Urge Their Team To Go For Kyler Murray

There’s one team fans reckon Murray might end up signing for: the Minnesota Vikings.

Things haven’t quite worked out for the NFC North outfit with JJ McCarthy under center this season, and it appears many supporters are in favor of the team trading for the former No. 1 overall pick.

“I speak for ALL Vikings fans when I say: We want Kyler Murray as our starting QB going forward,” one shared via X.

“I’ve kind of changed my thoughts on Kyler Murray, I wouldn’t be against the Vikings going after him if McCarthy continues to look worse to end the season,” another posted.

“It’s going to feel weird seeing Kyler Murray be a top 5 QB for the Vikings next year,” another tweet reads.

“Kyler Murray to the Vikings??? Yes, absolutely,” someone declared.

Time will tell what happens on that front. Murray is likely to find success in a different environment, and Minnesota might be just the place. But fans won’t be the ones making the decision.
